These PET films are custom manufactured in Europe, US, and China for back sheet laminators who supply module makers using c-Si to emerging flexible thin film, roll to roll, technologies.
The traditional back sheet design for c-Si PV modules is a laminate of Mylar® PET polyester film between two layers of DuPontTM Tedlar® PVF Films, knows as a TPT™ laminate.
New, 100% polyester film laminate designs use 2 or 3 layers of Melinex® polyester films.
