DuPont Teijin Films innovations for flexible displays are in the news

The Wilmington News Journal highlighted the efforts of DuPont Teijin Films to develop polyester films that enable flexible displays and other innovative printed electronics. Innovators in these markets use specialty polyester films from DuPont Teijin films for military and commercial applications.

Effective with shipments on or after June 1, 2010, DuPont Teijin Films US Limited Partnership will increase prices on all Mylar®, Melinex®, Teijin® Tetoron®, and Teijin® Teonex® film grades by a minimum of $0.15/lb.

Keith Rollins joins FlexTech Alliance Governing Board

Keith Rollins, Ph.D, Global Plastic Electronics Business Manager for DuPont Teijin Films has been elected to the FlexTech Alliance Governing Board. Robert W. Tulis, Ph.D, has been appointed to the newly created position of Director of Technology and Business Development. These announcements were made at the conclusion of the FlexTech Alliance quarterly Governing Board meeting, held today at Universal Display Corporation in Ewing, New Jersey.

DuPont Teijin Films joins Holst Centre research programme on Systems-in-Foil

DuPont Teijin Films, the world’s leading differentiated producer of PET and PEN polyester films, joins the Systems-in-Foil program of Holst Centre, a research initiative of the Flemish and Dutch research centers IMEC and TNO. By getting a major substrate vendor on board, Holst Centre gathers the entire ecosystem of industrial players around its Systems-in-Foil program line.

DuPont Teijin Films to Consolidate US Film Production to Virginia Plant

DuPont Teijin Films has announced a plan to consolidate all US PET film production to its Hopewell, VA. location. The Florence, SC, plant will be phased down during that period with full closure of the facility planned at the end of 2010. A total of 210 manufacturing jobs, including 40 contract positions, will be impacted at the SC facility. Some of these positions will be relocated to the Hopewell facility to support the technology transfer from the Florence site.

Lubrizol Advanced Materials, Inc. develops a new aqueous inkjet receiver coating on 'bright white' Melinex® 534 from DuPont Teijin Films

Lubrizol Advanced Materials, Inc. Gastonia NC has launched PrintRite® DP-350, a new aqueous polymer for inkjet receiver sheet. Lubrizol’s development team selected Melinex® 534 as the base film for their development.
