Mylar®, Melinex® and Teijin®Tetoron® polyester films
DuPont Teijin Films offers module manufacturers a number of value adding films that provide cost effective back sheet solutions with 3rd party lab certification and backed by a 50+ year reputation.
Mylar®, Melinex® and Teijin®Tetoron® PET films are designed to provide excellent hydrolysis, dielectric, interlayer laminate adhesion, reflectance, UV protection and durability properties in back sheet laminations.
These PET films are custom manufactured in Europe, US, Japan and China for back sheet laminators who supply module makers using c-Si to emerging flexible thin film, roll to roll, technologies.
Commonly selected films include
- Mylar A
- Teijin Tetoron U2
- Melinex 238 – improved hydrolysis resistance.
- Melinex 243 – improved hydrolysis and UV resistance.
The traditional back sheet design for c-Si PV modules is a laminate of Mylar® PET polyester film between two layers of DuPontTM Tedlar® PVF Films, knows as a TPT™ laminate
New, 100% polyester film laminate designs use 2 or 3 layers of Melinex® polyester films
Further Enhanced Film Offerings
Teonex® PEN and Melinex® ST polyester films provide high temperature dimensional stability. Teonex® PEN will also provide improved barrier and UV protection over standard PET films.
